"Why not just tell him. It's simple? You will notice most of the answers here in the forum dealing with tools, working with features, will have a link to where the answer can easily be found. This assures at leat a minimal exposure to the site. Many new persons entering in the Wetpaint Central arena are unfamiliar with the help sections of this site. By suppying them with a link, gives them an opportuniity to perhaps discover other aspects dealing in the area of their question. If all persons visited the help section on this site to seek an answer most would find it there instead of positng their question in a thread. Tasks that may be simple to those that have experience with Wetpaint wikis may not be so simple to those experiencing Wetpaint features for the first time. It is best to direct them to where the can find the answers. The old Chinese proverb seems to apply here "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." Show them where the information can be found and they will be able to find the answers for themselves without being told how to do it. That is the simple reason for not giving the simple answer Do you find this valuable? |
