Technically you can always revert to the last previous version before you encountered this problem. You should be able to edit the whole page again, and will have your previous homepage in its place in case things do not work out.

Based on past experiences, I can say that this bug is usually caused by images on the home page with huge dimensions.

When this happens to me, it is usaully is when I copy and paste a big photo.
