Tell us More

We would like to learn more about why you are interested in deleting your Wetpaint site. Can you answer a few quick questions to help us improve Wetpaint? If so, please take this short survey. Thanks!

Q. Can I delete the site or account I’ve created?

A. The short answer is no. The Wetpaint interface does not currently provide a delete site or account option. If you have posted content on your site you do not wish to be publicly viewed, we recommend that you edit the pages to remove the content or, if you are a site creator or moderator, you can delete an entire page using the "More Tools" option on the top of the page.

Or, check out an alternative method of site-deletion: Delete Your Site Yourself (by CryingDove)

Canceling Membership

You can cancel membership to any Wetpaint site you have created or joined via an option on your account profile page. Canceling your membership will remove you from the site user list and unsubscribe you from all associated email messages for the site. To cancel membership for a site, follow these steps:
  1. Sign in to your account on the site
  2. Click on 'My Profile' near the upper right corner of the site and click on the link to your 'Profile'
  3. Click on the “Cancel Membership” link on your profile page

    Cancel Membership link

  4. Confirm by clicking the Cancel Membership button
Note: Canceling membership to a site will not delete the site.

If you want to go to another site that you are a member of, click on the "My Wetpaint" link on the silver network bar in the upper right corner of the page. Or, if you want to start a new site go to www.wetpaint.com/wiki.

Your Wetpaint account provides you access to a large number of communities, so you can use it to visit thousands of other Wetpaint sites. There is no obligation to use the account, and our privacy policy ensures your information will never be shared with anyone else.

Canceling my membership was a mistake. What do I do?

To rejoin a wiki you have canceled your membership from, simply sign in to your Wetpaint account again while on that wiki, and your account, along with your contributions, friends, private messages, and profile, will be restored.

If you were the creator of the site, or the wiki's sole administrator, you may request to have your privileges restored by sending an email to Wetpaint, or by contacting jeremy_wetpaint here on Wetpaint Central.

Note: We can only elevate your status to "administrator" on a given wiki. If you are the creator of a wiki returning from a canceled membership, we cannot restore your role of "creator". Keep this in mind before you decide to cancel your membership - once your creator title is gone, it's gone for good!

Do NOT post a thread requesting that your site or account be deleted. If you do, your thread WILL be deleted.
Please follow the above instructions.

Hello, I read many threads and pages today, trying to get some informations about deleting wikis. My question is the following :
you said that the creator only can delete a wiki himself in following the instructions above, isn't it?
Someone said that his wiki can be deleted if he reveal the secret from a friend, is it true?
If a rule of Wetpaint is violated by the owner of a wiki (copyright infringement, by example), an administrator of here can he delete this wiki for this?
You see, it isn't mentioned on the page and I've searched, I didn't found, I thank you...

I am hoping someone can help with this problem without me becoming a member of Wetpaint. The following website http://msrpa.wetpaint.com/ has not been updated or moderated in over a year. I have since taken over by making an entirely new website for this club (MSRPA). I know the moderator for the Wetpaint site personally, have talked with her about deleting the old site so people don't go to the old, dead site but have gotten no response from her. I firmly believe that no action will be taken by her.

So, is it possible for the moderator of Wetpaint or someone else to delete the site ( msrpa.wetpaint.com ) without the site moderator's assistance or permission? Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated! Please contact me privately at raebeks@charter.net.
Thank you!
