Q. Can I delete my account?

The Wetpaint interface does not currently provide a feature to delete an account. However, you can 'Cancel Membership' to any site that you have created or joined. Canceling membership does not purge your account information, but it does remove your profile from the site and unsubscribe you from email associated to the site.

One of the benefits of canceling membership is that you can undo it later if you change your mind. However, keep in mind that if you are the site creator (or moderator, administrator, etc.) and you cancel membership, when you rejoin the site you will only have registered user status. If you think you might come back, make sure there is a moderator or administrator on the site before you go! This also applies to private sites. If you are the only member of a private site and you cancel your membership, there will be no one left on the site to re-invite you. You will be locked out.

How to Cancel Membership

You can cancel membership to any Wetpaint site you have created or joined via an option on your account profile page. Canceling your membership will remove you from the site user list and unsubscribe you from all associated email messages for the site. To cancel membership for a site, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your account on the site.
  2. Click on "My Profile" near the upper right corner of the site, and choose the link to your "Profile".
  3. Click on the "Cancel Membership" link on your profile page, as shown.

  4. If you have not recently signed in, you will be asked to type your password before confirming. Continue by clicking the "Cancel Membership" button, or choose "Return to your profile" to cancel.

Q: Can I rejoin after I have canceled my membership?

A. Yes, you can by following the instructions below. Rejoining a site as a member will restore your contributions, friends, messages, compliments, profile page, and profile image. However, after canceling and then rejoining, you will automatically join the site as a Registered User. If you were a writer, moderator, administrator, or even the site creator, you will no longer have that role.

  1. Sign in to the wiki with the account you want to uncancel.
  2. You will automatically be joined once you sign in.
If you want to go to another site that you are a member of, click on the 'My Wetpaint' link on the silver network bar in the upper right corner of the page. Or, if you want to start a new site go to www.wetpaint.com/wiki.

Your Wetpaint account provides you access to a large number of communities, so you can use it to visit thousands of other Wetpaint sites. There is no obligation to use the account, and our privacy policy ensures your information will never be shared with anyone else.

I think its not even possible to delete (close, ...) your Wetpaint account.
My idea is,
WRITE AN E-MAIL TO INFO@WETPAINT.COM and ask if it could be possible.
When everybody writes an e-mail, they must put a link in for it!
