Ads

Ever wonder about those ads on your site?

Q. I see Google text ads on my site – does Wetpaint have a revenue-sharing program?

A. At this time, we do not support revenue-sharing ad programs for freely hosted sites in the Wetpaint network. Wetpaint places ads on the page which are contextually relevant to the content of the page. These ads defray the costs of running the Wetpaint servers and allow us to offer a free service.

Q. Can I pay for a site without ads?

A. Yes! Wetpaint has launched a beta program that gives you two options for ad removal: a Basic subscription and a Premium Subscription. Learn how to sign up.

Q. I use my wiki for educational purposes, can I get the ads removed from my site?

A. Yes, you may qualify for an ad free site in this case. See Ad Free Education Wikis for details.

Reporting Inappropriate Ads

If you find an ad on your site that is patently offensive or links to pornographic content you can let us know about it so we can remove it from the network. Keep in mind that cannot remove a particular ad solely for an individual site. To report an ad, follow these steps:
  1. Copy the link (URL) that shows on the ad and paste it in an email message.
  2. Brace yourself, click the ad, and copy the URL of the page that it takes you to. Paste this URL into your message as well.
  3. Take a screenshot of the ad if possible and include this in your message.
  4. Send your report to us at info@wetpaint.com

I just signed up for a premium site after having already set up a free one. I entered the name of that site into a form when I set up the premium account, but the ads are still there.

roctheking ad-free Church wiki? 4 Nov 24 2008, 2:17 PM EST by jeremy_wetpaint

i would like to know if it is possible for you to extend the same ad-free benefit that education wikis have to churches and their ministries. I am a high school teacher, but I also teach at my church. I would like to set up a wiki for them to discuss Bible topics, life issues, testimonies, etc. without having the normal distractions of most social sites(i.e. myspace, facebook, urbanchat, etc.). I believe that this wiki would be a great benefit to all of my kids just as wetpaint has been for several teachers. Thank you for your consideration in this manner.

Anonymous Remove ads from an education site 1 Jun 13 2008, 2:58 PM EDT by Stickmeninc

I just started a private Wiki site for the students in my academic class. As part of starting the Wiki, it indicated I can varify educational use, and have the ads removed from the site. How do I do that?
