Xat Chat Boxes is a type of chat room similar to Meebo, Gabbly and Chatango. The features that are present in a Xat Chat Box allow you to have your own avatar or a number of avatars that are already in the system, as well as your very own custom background. Creating a Xat Box and Finding the Code

  1. First, go to www.xat.com and click on the "Make a Chat Box" button.
  2. Choose your Chat Box settings, then click on "Update & get code".
  3. Copy the Embed Code.

Adding the Xat Box to your site

  1. To add your widget to a page, click on the "EasyEdit" button and the toolbar will appear.

  2. Place your cursor where you'd like to display your widget, and click on the "Widget" button in the toolbar.

    The "Add Widget" dialog will appear.

  3. Click on the "Other Widget" button.Other Widget
  4. Paste the Xat Box Embed Code into the open text field, and then click "Add Widget."
  5. After you've added your Xat Box, an "Edit Widget" dialog will appear. You can change the size of your Xat Box by using the (-) or (+) options. You can also change where your box appears in relationship to the copy on the page by using the layout icons. When you're satisfied with the size and layout of your box image, click on the "Done" button.

Done! Enjoy your Chat Box.
