Xat Chat Boxes are just another type of chat rooms similar to Meebo and Gabbly. A good thing about Xat Chat Boxes is that everyone can have different avatars and you can change the background of you chat box. An example of a Xat Chat box is here.

Creating a Xat Box and Finding the Code

  1. First, go to www.Xat.com and click on the "Make a Chat Box" button.
  2. Choose your Chat Box settings then click on "Update & get code".
  3. Copy the Embed Code.

Adding the Xat Box to your site

  1. To add your widget to a page, click on the "EasyEdit" button and the toolbar will appear.

  2. Place your cursor where you'd like to display your widget, and click on the "Widget" button in the toolbar.

    The "Add Widget" dialog will appear.

  3. Click on the "Other Widget" button.
  4. Paste the Xat Box Embed Code into the open text field and then click "Add Widget."
  5. After you've added your Xat Box, an "Edit Widget" dialog will appear. You can change the size of your Xat Box by using the (-) or (+) options. You can also change where your box appears in relationship to the copy on the page by using the layout icons. When you're satisfied with the size and layout of your box image, click on the "Done" button.

Done! Enjoy your Chat Box.
If once you've saved it the chat box doesn't appear, try refreshing your page or clear browser cookies.
