The new sign in program is awesome. It's better that you go to a seperate page and sign in instead of the pop-up box that used to be on there.

I'm glad I found this page and found out why I got the malware like a month ago.
I used the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and after two hours my laptop was good to go so I'm thankful the problem is fixable. |

this problem was posted in May 2009 and still new member invitations cannot login to my wetpaint site - this is a MAJOR problem and I am confused why WetPaint is not addressing the seriousness of the problem - I know if I make it public there will not be a problem but privacy is ESSENTIAL - or now maybe not?????????????
please let me know ASAP what WP will do or fix?????

i heard about that trojan virus thats going into everyones computer!
The Fat dancing kid on youtube gave me the trojan virus! now im using my laptop. AND DID YOU KNOW? even when you dont download the software to get viruses it somehow gets installed for you? idk.

I have that on my computer right now, and well...it doesn't go away. It continues to open up in Windows Internet Explorer. Now, what can I do...I mean, i come home, and there's literally 60 of those popups, and I have to restart my computer. Is there anyway I can stop it. I have not clicked on the ad or installed it.

Can I just click TASK MANAGER and END Firefox or Internet Explorer upon the malware window pop-up and before it scan my and PC and install the virus. It seems I would never had the option to cancel this process in the browser.

I remember getting something like that message and I tried to exit out of the Internet Explorer to get away from it and it started scanning automaticly!!! Wetpaint worked kinda suckish after that and then my Internet Explorere failed one night... My dad was on the computer for three hours doing about 56 different scans to clean off all the stupid viruses, bugs, and other things the scan put on my computer!

I can feel your pain as a while back I had my computer infected with several virus items which took the fine folks at Microsoft just about two hours to get rid of. If you have a good virus system on your computer then you not need these scam items.

Just a couple of tips.
If you actually have "Antivirus 360" downloaded on your computer, download Malwarebytes (link is provided above.) Run the "quick scan." That should take care of it. Of course it's best to run any and all virus programs you have. The Adware seems to come from Contextual Ads - Milehigh Ads. You can find this in your "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel. It should remove. That's all I have right now. :) |

As owner of Wiki Worlds (a wiki that reviews wikis), I want the Wetpaint community safe. I hate the guy who is trying to put this virus in our computer!! I just want to thank the Wetpaint admins for fixing theis problem. Wetpaint must be safe and we must all fight against this person and the virus. I want a commitment, if this virus appears again, all of Wetpaint must fight against it. Wetpaint Central is the base of Wetpaint and we don't want the virus to hack the members of our base. The war for the haven of Wetpaint Central is starting, but our generals (Wetpaint admins) have it taken care of. This virus must die, for Wetpaint users must FIGHT!! The fate of Wetpaint Central is on your hands.

Well done to wetpaint for good, clear communications once the issue was found and a thorough investigation into cause and future remedial actions. Couldnt ask for more. A confidence builder. S**t happens. This kind of approach mitigates the impact, and reduces the frequency.

Dear Jeremy when i started using the site i suspected whether anything wrong with the site like spam as it was slowing down the machine. But now after reading this page i apologize that kind of thinking. i would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the work you have done for protecting the registered users.
