Congratulations to user "CoolAs101" for creating the winning screencast video! CoolAs101 did a great job of creating a video that shows an easy to follow walkthrough of how to create a Wetpaint site as well as an overview of the basic features that a new user needs to become familiar with. Nice job of including visual call outs and background music!

Want to show off your mad video making skillz and win some cool prizes?

What kind of video?

A screencast video about Wetpaint. A screencast is a digital recording of computer screen output, also known as a video screen capture, often containing audio narration.

The Rules

  • In order to submit a video for the competition, you must be a registered Wetpaint user.
  • Videos should ideally be around 1 to 4 minutes in length

Topics

Your screencast video can be about anything related to using Wetpaint. Some ideas include:
  • A "how-to" video on using your favorite set of features
  • Tips on getting new members to join your site
  • A personal Wetpaint story, like "How I ended up with the most popular site about ____ on Wetpaint."

How do I win?

Make an awesome screencast video about Wetpaint! We will be the most impressed by videos that are:
  • Informative or educational
  • Easy to follow (tip: plan ahead and create a script)
  • Easy to listen to (clear speech & background music is good, a dog barking in the background is bad)
  • Easy on the eyes (is it easy to see what's going on on the screen?)
  • Entertaining or humorous

When?

Videos must be submitted to Wetpaint by Sunday, May 10th, 11:59pm EST (8:59pm PST).
Winner will be announced Friday, May 15th, 12pm PST

Where?

When you're done making your video and are ready to show it off, upload your video to a hosting service like YouTube. Then, add your video about Wetpaint to Wetpaint Central in the "User Created Wetpaint Videos" collection. Be sure to include your username in the video description.

Who wins?

Winner will be selected by a crack team of judges at Wetpaint. In the event of a tie, we will hold a community vote to decide the ultimate winner. As in Highlander, there can be only one! The winner(s) will be announced on this page on Friday, May 15th at 12pm PST.

The winner
  • Your Wetpaint site (or your favorite Wetpaint site if you don't have your own) will be promoted on the Wetpaint homepage
  • Your video will featured in the next Wetpaint Site Digest
  • An SEO audit to help search engines find your site
  • A new custom header image for your site
