The Wetpaint Community |

Version 10 - view current page

If creating a website is a new experience for you, it may seem like there is a great deal to learn. The Wetpaint staff is here to help, however, Wetpaint also has a community of moderators and members who have encountered the same questions or challenges as you!

How We Interact

Wetpaint websites are designed to encourage interaction through the use of comments on the bottom of pages. Comments are used like a forum on Wetpaint Central and the Moderator Lounge to ask questions, comment on features, post tips and tricks, and discuss a wide range of topics related to Wetpaint websites.

Finding Answers

If you have a question, begin by browsing the pages on Wetpaint Central and the Moderator Lounge. Your question may be answered within the body of the pages. If you haven't found the answer to your question, visit the Ask and Answer page at the Moderator Lounge. You can browse comments on Ask and Answer by expanding the list of visible comments. This is done by clicking on "view all" at the bottom of the page.

Asking Questions

The community is friendly and helpful, so there is no need to be shy!

  • Sign into Wetpaint Central and/or the Moderator Lounge.

Sometimes asking a question can be intimidating! No one is here to criticize you for asking a question, especially since many moderators had the same questions when they first started their sites. When several questions are posted anonymously, it can be easy for the community to miss a question. This happens occasionally when several questions and answers are posted with a similar heading. No one is ignoring your question, it's just mistaken for one that was already answered! In addition, signing in will make it easy to find out when your question has been answered, because an email will be sent when someone has replied.

  • Be specific when you ask a question.

A specific question with detailed information is more likely to elicit the answer you need. If you have a question about the visual design of your website, for example, providing an URL might make it easier for others to help you.

Help Others in the Community

After you have been a moderator for awhile, you may be able to help others within the community. When you visit Wetpaint Central or the Moderator Lounge, take a moment to read the questions posted. Perhaps you've encountered the same problem, found a solution on your own, or had the question answered by someone else. It's the perfect chance to provide an answer that will make someone new feel welcome and help guide them in making the most of their website!
