This happened on this very wiki. I haven't been on here for ages so the message was sent on April the 7th 2010.

That the sweetheart scams reported here almost always follows the example given above? Putting that example there is like making a sweetheart scam template.

on this site, I recieved a sweetheart scam and I had no idea it was until now. I did say 'sorry but no' when she asked for my email. Here's the message:
Hello (victoria12dd@yahoo.com) My name is victoria, i saw your profile today and became intrested in you,i will also like to know you more,and if you can send an email to my email address,i will give you my pictures here is my email address (victoria12dd@yahoo.com) I believe we can move from here! Awaiting for your mail to my email address above. victoria her username was vickyjoy200, and I just now noticed she was banned. Am I ok that I replied, although I didn't give my email?

yesterday(july 3rd, 2009), at 1:00 pm EDT, i got a message that sounded like a sweetheart scam. it was from a registered user named jane2000 on http://goldenpaintcanawards.wetpaint.com. i reported it to the site's moderators already. my username on that site is Echofire
the message consisted of this: "jane200desmond@ yahoo.co.uk name is miss jane desmond saw your profile today and became intrested in you,i will also like to know you more,and i want you to send an email to my email address so i can give you my picture, for you to know whom i am. Here is my email address jane200desmond@ yahoo.co.uk I believe we can move from here! I am waiting for your mail to my email address above. jane. (Remeber the distance or colour does not matter but love matters alot in life) jane200desmond@ yahoo.co.uk"

Someone sent me a minor sweetheart scam the other day. Here is what I think it said: "Hey, sweet thing! I have been looking at your profile, and I think I've fallen in love. Your personality - so much like mine. Baby, just send me a pic of you and your email address; I'd love to chat. Maybe we coulld meet up somewhere - alone, perhaps? Never mind. I'm moving too fast. Anyways, email me sweetie! At: ************@*****.com (don't want to give away his email address)
So long, my love, Mike Perrentis" I'm really scared, and wondering if anyone can help without hurting him, or putting him in juvy. Please help. PLEASE!!!

I don't respond to those stupid messages, but some users may. Thank you for the warning!
But question for Wetpaint: When you choose not to be in the site members report, do you count as a numbered member. Example: I had 13 members, and 2 joined. If they don't choose to be on the site members report, will I have 15 or would it show still 13 members? Also, if an emergency, what if the Admins and Mods cannot get to this account they found out was bad, but it didn't contribute to the site yet. If they want to stop it before it does contribute, where will they find that member's account? ~Marioman1000
