Having statistics on a user generated media site such as this wiki, is a reward mechanism that stimulates new content and signals interesting content.
Lets start wiki, improve this page!
The most simple form of statistics is a read counter on every page.
In the header after the time of last update.
More complex would be a page offof-of-site of site reports that could graph the read activity of each page. Would this be a moderator only?
Why this isn't currently possible...
Site statistics require, among other things, insertion of some special HTML into one or more pages of a site, to enable the tracking of visits. HTML insertion isn't currently (Nov. 2006) possible, although it may be in the future.
- What type of statistics would you like?
- And where on a page?
- On a separate page?
- When might some feature like this be available?
