Is there any possible way to move an entire site to a new web address? My site is a huge and active site, and we're having hacker trouble.

I was just wondering if anyone has successfully moved content from one wiki to another. I'm guessing that for the most part, its cut and paste all the way? Is there any other way to go about doing this?

*** this is mainly a message to the support/development team though it'd be worth everyone else knowing... ***
at the moment the BACK-UP function to export your wiki doesn't seem to work properly. i have been building a wiki with several pages and including links between the pages. however, when i export the wiki, while all the pages are there, none of the links work. the links say, for example: file:///page/19531016_Castro_History_speech when all they need to say is: 19531016_Castro_History_speech.html as when the pages are downloaded, they're all arranged into the same folder and they all need to have the .html file extension on the end. i should imagine this would be fairly simple to fix. it's very important for me to have a back-up of anything i do on the wiki so can someone remedy this soon. thanks, guy

This is not a backup it is more like a pacifier, the HTML links words are nice to have but everything else is MISSING from the backup. The back lacks the photos, attachements, downloads, everything else that makes the web the web.
Hoping you get it right soon as I love webpaint I just worry about losing everything, it has happened before and will happen again I am sure the question is will we be ready.

Although I have a question.
After we back this up, if it should be necessary how to we reuplaod things? I'm assuming that being able to back up the site is a precaution to a wiki become corrupted or such and the mod being able to just get everything back up quickly rather than doing all the work over again. Also it would be spiffy great if this could end up working both ways. Enabling working on pages off line. So Great start you guys. Thank you muchly.

Thanks for starting to provide us with a Site Back Up option. With this first release you allow us to recover our pages with pictures as single files, which are renamed using a running numerical prefix. At least, we have the content of our class-Wikis (and all others) as htm on our local drives. But, unfortunately, since you renamed the pages, all page-links are broken and the site of linked pages is destroyed.
May I ask you to thread your backup by only renaming unlinked pages from the root of your files tree, but leave all other page names intact and unchanged. Just search for all root pages and give them a running prefix. Once you found those, you know that all other pages must be linked to these root pages. So do not rename them, just copy them with their original names Then, all my student's page linkess are maintained and all pages are directly accessible . That would be really useful. For example, I use the Wetpaint Wiki for my class e-portfolios. I have one page in the Wiki root called "e-Portfolios". The page has a table with all my 18 student' s pictures and names and a link to their e-Portfolio-Index pages. Each student's index pages has all the student's assignment pages linked. If you would only rename the first level of unlinked site pages (in the site's root) then my whole site would be accessible off-line and students could burn their own e-portfolios as intact web pages onto disc - like you like to do with en e-portfolio. I am looking forward to a update of the 1st version of the BU. Thanks for tackling this often requested service. Best, Klaus Peters
