Using "Page History" to Revert/Delete
After you log in and
review the recent changes made to the site, you may find some problems. If additions or modifications to a page are troublesome or unnecessary, you can easily revert the page to what it was before these recent changes were made, or delete the changes entirely:
- Click on the "complete history" link in the "Last page update" area of the page (see example below).
- Compare the new page to what is looked like before and decide which former version you would like to revert it to.
- By clicking the "+" button next to a former page, it will give you the option, "Make Current Version".
Can I delete a version of the page?
Caution: Page versions should not be deleted without serious consideration. The only situation where you should consider removing a page version is when the content of the page is unquestionably offensive or violates copyright laws.
- To delete a page version, navigate to the page, and click on the "complete history" link in the "Last page update" area of the page.
- Click on the "[+]" link to expand the history of the page version you plan to delete.
- Click on the "Delete This Version" button. The "Delete Version" dialog appears.
- Type in the reason you're deleting the page version, and then click the "Delete Version" button.
This is what happens after you delete a page version:
- The page version will remain visible to moderators who click on the "Page History" tab, but the title will be crossed-out.
- Any comments made by the moderator who removed the page version will be visible.
