How do I manage templates for my site?

Wetpaint sites have several pre-formatted templates to help users add new standardized pages to a site: Monthly Calendar, Weekly Calendar, Schedule, Event Planning, and a Photo Gallery. If you are the site creator or a moderator, you also have the ability to create new Custom Templates for your site. Or, you can choose to unpublish some, or all, of the Standard Templates provided by Wetpaint.

To manage the Standard Templates and Custom Templates for your site, click on "Settings" at the top right corner of the site and then select the "Templates" tab.

Managing Standard Templates

The Standard Templates provided by Wetpaint are automatically set to be "published" and accessible by all users on your site. If you prefer to make any or all of these templates unavailable to your site members, simply click the status link that says "Make Draft".

Creating New Custom Templates

Creating a Custom Template gives users an easy starting point for adding information to your site. You can create new templates by following these steps:
  1. Select "Add a New Custom Template" from the Template Manager in the Site Settings (see image above).
  2. An "Add Template" box will pop up. You can name your template and make it a draft.
  3. Click "Add Template" to add your template.
  4. Your Template should now pop up. Click EasyEdit to edit it like you would any other Wetpaint page.

Saving a Template

  • If you want to save your changes and come back later, you can get to your template by going to Site Settings and the Template tab.
  • When you are ready to add your template to your site, go to the Template in Site Settings and on the left-hand side, there is an option to Publish your template. Click Publish.
  • Now when you add a new page to your site, your template will be available on the list in the Add Page dialog box

I saved a template as a draft and I can't seem to find that template now. Is it possible to find it and publish it without having to re do it? If so, where?

I began my home page with a blank template. I would like to change it to a text and photo template. How do I do that?
