Here, we've assembled some best practices for your wiki edits. Please feel free to contribute to this working set of guidelines! They are divided into the following pages:Three Tips for a Successful WikiGood Homepage ManagementHow to Use TablesOrganizationStyle GuideInternal LinksDesignKeyboard shortcutsGrammar, Spelling, Tone and Readability A fun aspect of contributing to a wiki is the freedom of formatting and design. Although there are certain organizational guidelines you will want to stick to, things like adding images can be a creative outlet. However, you will want to keep the following in mind:
Optimize for 1024 x 768 Resolution
This screen resolution is a good standard to have when designing your site. Keep in mind that there are people using both higher and lower screen resolution, so what you see on your screen may be different than what they see. However, 1024 x 768 is a good middle ground for today's Internet users.
Images
You may add images by uploading one from your computer or entering a URL. Images can really complete Wetpaint site and you should strive to have at least one on each page of your site (where practical). Images should not be place arbitrarily, but rather with text wrapped around it or in a practical and aesthetically pleasing position. It is probably best to keep pictures small or medium in size. They are meant to complement your content, not take the place of content.
You should always enter a name for your image, as this name will appear when people roll their cursor over it. This is a practical thing to do for visitors, as well as another way to enter a keyword on your page (for search engine optimization purposes). In addition to naming the image, always link the image to another related page (preferably, this will be an internal link).
Animated Images
To use an animated image, the process a slightly different. Find your desired image on the internet, and right-click it. Select Copy. Now go to your Wetpaint site and click the EasyEdit button. Paste your image into the location, and click Save. Be sure not to edit any properties of the image or the result will be something other than you probably wanted. Refresh the page and you will find that the image is not a single frame like it would be if you uploaded it from your computer.
Tables
Not only are tables perfect for organizing data, but they also can add a design element to your page when you fill them with images or photos. Here's an example from wikiFido (See How to Use Tables for more examples):
