March is full of momentous occasions — Dr. Seuss’ birthday, St. Patrick’s Day, the swallows' return to Capistrano, the first day of Spring, and the anniversary of the discovery of Uranus, to name just a few. While perhaps not on par with those events, Wetpaint is pleased to announce its latest set of new features.

Fresh Features for Your Wiki

Wetpaint Music Widget
Last month we launched Wetpaint Widgets, a gallery of easy-to-add web widgets to adorn your Wetpaint wiki. This month we added one more: an embeddable music player! You can now create the soundtrack of your site through
Imeem, an online community where people and groups upload, share, tag, and create playlists around the tunes they care about. Add a music widget to your wiki and rock on!

Moving Comments
Say what you want, where you want, and when you change your mind later, you can move the comment to where it best belongs. With this new feature, anyone with moderator or creator privileges can move a thread from one page to another. Just sign in, click on the thread, and select the “Move comment and replies” link.

Helpful Hints
For all the newbies on your Wetpaint site, we’ve introduced Wetpaint Orientation, helpful suggestions that will get them more familiar with the site. Wetpaint prompts new users to update their profile or add a comment, for example, and to try other easy tasks that will get them up to speed and contributing to your site right away.

Wetpaint Site of the Month

All About RacinThe action on All About Racin’ is fast and furious. If you love the smell of gasoline and are able to drive in circles at 180 mph, then this is the site for you. Pull in for a pit stop and review a track, profile a driver, or vote on who is going to drive off with the 2007 Nextel Cup.

A New Wiki Resource

Getting your Wetpaint site started is as easy as 1-2-3. Making it flourish from 10 users to 1,000, however, can take a bit of effort. So what’s the best way to go about it? What can you learn from others who’ve done it? A great place to start is the Moderator Lounge. Another place to try is Wikipatterns. This new site we found has all sorts of information about the patterns successful wikis follow and how you can encourage those patterns on your Wetpaint site. Check it out when you have a chance.

That's all for now. See you next month!
