One easy way to begin growing your site is to invite friends to visit and help you. Think of all the friends and family you have that might find the site interesting or want to help out. Then invite them to your site.
Wetpaint has a simple way to do this: just click the "Invite Others""Invite" link in the pagewiki global toolboxnavigation and you're on your way.

Once people start to arrive, it's a good idea to welcome them personally by leaving messages on their profile pages. See here, for more on
this.
The Contributing Guide has lots of other ideas about getting people involved once they arrive on the site.

You can even automatically add any email addresses you have saved in Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo! Mail, AOL, and Hotmail!
Add your own message to make the invitation personal, and you'll have people visiting in no time.
You can also check a box to have a reminder sent in three days if the user has not accepted their invitation.
