How to Link to a Thread |

Links in your text are important, but there’s so much more you can do! The following strategies can encourage discussion and help people navigate around the site:

To link to the “Recent Comments” overview page:
1. Select/highlight the words you want to link, such as “Add a comment.”
2. Click the “Link” button in the EasyEdit Toolbar. The "Add Link" toolbox appears (see below).
3. Highlight the full URL of the page you are on.
4. Paste it into the field “Link to,” followed by: /thread.
5. Save by clicking “Add Link.”


To link directly to a specific thread:
1. Click on the thread you want to link to, and once you land on the page with the full comment on it (as shown above), copy the entire URL for that page.
2. Go back to your original page, and select/highlight the words you want to link, such as “Join in the discussion.”
3. Click the “Link” button in the EasyEdit Toolbar. The Add Link dialog box appears (shown below).
4. Paste the entire URL for the comment page in the “Link to” field.
5. Save by clicking “Add Link.”

The Recent Comments report gives users a big-picture view of all the ongoing discussions, and they can then choose where to jump in and contribute. It looks like this:To link to the “Recent Comments” overview page:

Link to a specific comment.
Sometimes you may want to encourage people to join a single comment thread already in progress, such as:To link directly to a specific thread:
1. Click on the thread you want to link to, and once you land on the page with the full comment on it (as shown above), copy the entire URL for that page.
2. Go back to your original page, and select/highlight the words you want to link, such as “Join in the discussion.”
3. Click the “Link” button in the EasyEdit Toolbar. The Add Link dialog box appears (shown below).
