Links in your text are important, but there’s so much more you can do! The following strategies can encourage discussion and help people navigate around the site:

Link to a specific pages “Thread Summary" page.

  1. Select/highlight the words you want to link, such as “View Threads and Posts.”

  2. Click the “Link” button in the EasyEdit Toolbar. The "Add Link" toolbox appears (see below).

  3. Highlight and copy the full URL of the page you are on
    (e.g. http://www.mywikiname.wetpaint.com/page/My+Quilts).

  4. Paste it into the field “Link to,” followed by: /thread
    (e.g. http://www.mywikiname.wetpaint.com/page/My+Quilts/thread)

  5. Save by clicking “Add Link.”

Link to a specific"Thread Detail" page.

Sometimes you may want to encourage people to join a thread already in progress. To link directly to a specific thread:

  1. Click on the subject of the thread you want to link to to open the Thread Detail page.

  2. Highlight and copy the full URL of the page you are on
    (e.g. http://www.mywikiname.wetpaint.com/thread/954790/Beagles%21%21%21

  3. Go back to your original page, and select/highlight the words you want to link, such as “Join in the discussion.”

  4. 3. Click the “Link” button in the EasyEdit Toolbar. The Add Link dialog box appears (shown below).

  5. Paste the entire URL for the comment page in the “Link to” field.

  6. Save by clicking “Add Link.”

Link to the “Discussion Forum" page.

The Discussion Forum gives users a big-picture view of all the ongoing discussions, and they can then choose where to jump in and contribute. To link to this page:

  1. Go to the homepage for the site

  2. Highlight the full URL of the homepage(e.g. http://www.mywikiname.wetpaint.com)

  3. Go back to your original page, and select/highlight the words you want to link, such as “View Threads and Posts.”

  4. Click the “Link” button in the EasyEdit Toolbar. The "Add Link" toolbox appears (see below).

  5. Paste the entire URL for the homepage into the field “Link to,” followed by: /thread
    (e.g. http://www.mywikiname.wetpaint.com/thread)

  6. Save by clicking “Add Link.”
