Welcome! Wikis are websites that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Grammer, Spelling and Tone

Grammar and Spelling

When writing for your site, grammar and spelling should be correct. Likewise, when reviewing other people's additions, make sure they are using proper English and that their spelling and grammar are correct. Should you be insanely picky about commas and semicolons? Well, it wouldn't hurt to take care of the obvious issues. Read more about editing and judgment calls.

Tone

The tone of your wiki will depend on what subject is being written about. For instance, Wetpaint's wikiCancer has a much different tone than Brickiwiki. In general, however, your tone should be upbeat and friendly, as all of the Wetpaint sites are about building an online community. While one site may be more serious in topic, it should still have the same warmth as a topic that is silly in nature.
