Welcome! Wikis are websites that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Google Analytics

Want to know how your site is performing? Now Creators and Administrators can Add Google Analytics tracking to their wiki sites. Simply sign-in and access your site’s "Settings" area. From the settings area look for the ‘Site Statistics’ link. Click Here to Get Google Analytics With Google.

Note: make sure you click on the tab highlighted in red below. If you use the "Legacy Tracking Code" on your Wetpaint site it will not work.

Google Analytics example

Once you've signed up at Google Analytics just follow these steps to activate stats tracking on your Wetpaint site:

  1. Sign into your Wetpaint site
  2. Click on "Settings" near the top right corner of the page
  3. Click on "Site Statistics"
  4. Choose the option for Google Analytics. If you're currently using SiteMeter you'll have to remove it in order to see this option.
  5. Paste the JavaScript HTML code from Google Analytics into the box where it says to do this.
  6. Click the "Activate" button at the bottom of the page.

Hello, I have many wikis in operation prior to the upgrades. Do I have to switch the code in each wiki to make it them work or will they continue to work the way they were setup before?

Google Analytics is using a new tracking code. According to the GA site, the urchin.js code (the old one) "will not receive feature updates and is not compatible with new features."

The new tracking code (ga.js) does not work on Wetpaint (I get an error saying code does not appear valid when trying to add it to my stat settings.

Thank you guys for finally implementing this. It is a bit too late for me now to benefit from it, but I'm sure others will.

I noticed that you cannot use both Sitemeter & Analytics at once, why is this?
