Welcome! Wikis are websites that everyone can build together. It's easy!

February 2007

In the run-up to Valentines Day, we thought we'd spare you the inedible chalky heart candies and empty holiday sentiments and instead set you up with some great new features that will make you *heart* Wetpaint all the more.

Features That Let You Share the Love

Wetpaint Widgets
It's easy now to enhance your Wetpaint wiki by incorporating fun and engaging web widgets. Click the Widget icon on the EasyEdit toolbar and you'll have the option to include any of the following custom features on your Wetpaint site:
  • YouTube and Google Video
  • Vizu polls
  • Google Calendar views
  • Photobucket slideshows
  • Meebo instant messaging
  • Gabbly chat
  • Inbound RSS feeds
Additionally, you can incorporate nearly any third-party widget that uses <embed> or <I-frame> code output. This means that applications such as Google Spreadsheets and embeddable audio players like Odeo and Radio.Blog.Club can now be added to your Wetpaint wiki.

Page Update Notification

It is now easier than ever to track changes to favorite pages on your Wetpaint wiki. To add pages to your Watchlist, select the "eye" icon in the Page Toolbox (or when saving page changes), and you'll receive an email notification whenever the page is updated.

Save your work!

If you've ever authored a ton of content and then accidentally hit the escape key and lost all your work, this feature will warm your heart. Now when you try and navigate away from a page without saving your changes, your browser will issue a warning dialog that will allow you to review and save changes, or discard them.

Wetpaint Site of the Month
Top Design Fan Wiki It's said you can never be too rich or too thin. Well, the folks over at the Top Design Fan Wiki know that what really counts is having style to burn. If you're a fan of the new Bravo reality show, this is the ultimate web shrine for you. Making full use of the new widget offering, you can vote on who is going to get tossed, as well as add your thoughts about each episode and designer.

Wetpaint Contributor of the Month
February 2007 - Wetpaint CentralJudy Conklin from the Jericho Fan Wiki gets our props for being the most active commenter on the site. If there is a theory, she has an opinion about it. With the show coming back from hiatus on February 21, we know we can count on her to untangle the many threads. Keep at it, Judy!

Terms of Use Update
We occasionally have to make announcements about updates to Wetpaint policies -- the lawyers who visit our offices insist. Here is what they want us to say:

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), the complete and exciting text which can be found on the U.S. Copyright office website, and other applicable law, Wetpaint has adopted a policy of banning, in appropriate circumstances and at its sole discretion, users who are deemed to be repeat infringers of the Wetpaint Terms of Use. Wetpaint may also, at its sole discretion, limit access to any website hosted by Wetpaint and/or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe upon any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

There...we hope they're happy.

That's all for now. See you next month!
The Wetpaint Crew
