Encourage Others To Contribute
Why should I encourage others to contribute?
A wiki with only one contributing member is more like a blog than a wiki. Getting others to contribute on your site allows you to harness the knowledge and skills of many people. Here are some of the benefits you'll get from encouraging contribution:- Your site will be more social and have more discussions
- It brings a wider range of ideas to the site
- An active site is more likely to grow and become popular
- You don't have to do all the work yourself
- It's more fun!
How do I encourage users to contribute?
It isn't uncommon for a user to register with your Wetpaint site, then remain inactive in the community. Here are a few techniques to draw people out and encourage them to participate: Best Practices
This section also offers some best practices for how you can optimize your site for contributions: - Calls to Action - Tell visitors they can: Write a review, fill in a table, create a newpage for a new topic, add photos, etc.
- Discussions and Communication
- Organize the Content
- Writing for the Web
