Droplets

Notice:

Wetpaint is ending support for Droplets. The third party provider that Wetpaint collaborated with to create Droplets has retired their service. Droplets that have already been added to web pages should continue to function until the end of 2010, but new Droplets cannot be added. The Droplets tab at the top of Wetpaint sites has been removed.
Content Modules, which function similarly to Droplets, will continue to work and be supported for use on Wetpaint sites.

What are Droplets?

Droplets let you monitor or share the social pulse of your Wetpaint site with awesome widgets you can install wherever your travels on the world wild web take you. You can put them on Facebook, MySpace, iGoogle, and a ton of other social networking sites. Droplets are your opportunity to spread the word of your Wetpaint site onto other sites by way of compelling and interactive content. Users who interact with your Droplets can click-through bringing more users to your site.

Five droplets are currently available with three skin choices each.

	Picture This Takes recently uploaded photos from your gallery Showcase them collage-style wherever you like Example from WikiFido
	Wiretap Tracks hot conversations in your site's discussion forum Displays the latest discussion posts Example from WikiFido
	Site Satellite Tracks community related activities across your site Example from WikiFido
	Site At a Glance Displays all three feature site Droplets: Site Satellite, Wiretap, and Picture This. Example from Wetpaint Central
	All Eyes On ME!! Shows of Compliments received, page edits made, thread contributions, and photo additions. Displays your avatar/profile image on it. Shows recent activity by YOU!! Example from Wetpaint Central Username is Walrusworldstudios, A Wetpaint Central Moderator

generating the code

Hi, I would love to be able to put a droplet for "The Def Leppard Nation" on my facebook page, but it just won't generate the code. It says it is loading and I have left it doing that for up to 4 hours with nothing happening. Can you assist or advise why this is so?

I think they look great!

I'm confused though...what are they for? How do they help you to "Monitor the social pulse of your Wetpaint site"?

Don't get me wrong, I think they are awesome, but I'm just puzzled as to the best way to make good use of them...perhaps some clearer instructions?
