What is Docstoc?
Docstoc is an online service that allows you to upload and share many types of documents. Docstoc supports .doc, .xls, .ppt, .pps, .pdf, .rtf, .txt, .docx, .xlsx, and .ppts file formats. Docstoc documents can be embedded on blogs and websites.How do I embed a Docstoc document to a page?
- To add a DocStoc widget to a page, click on the "EasyEdit" button and the toolbar will appear.
- Place your cursor where you'd like to display your document, and click on the "Widget" button in the toolbar.The "Add Widget" dialog will appear.
- Select Docstoc from the list. The "Add Docstoc" dialog will appear.
- Paste the embed code you copied from Docstoc into the blank field in the Add Docstic dialog and click the "Add Docstoc" button.

This problem is still not resolved. It is not about embedding Docstoc as a widget into Wetpaint. That appears to work fine.
It is about the actual document within the widget being seen - or whether they just appear as a spinning wheel - waiting to display. (On several different types of browsers & computers & internet connections.) One thing I have found - when a document is set to Private in Docstoc & the link shared - as instructed & they are supposed to work - I get the spinning wheel. If the same document is changed from Private to Public setting in Docstoc (without re-embedding) - it is then able to be viewed. Not sure what this actually means. Not everyone hosting docs wants to make them publicly accessible. So this is a real issue - that will stop a lot of people using what is otherwise a very good site. |
