Why should I post threads and replies?

Wetpaint has a unique interface that combines discussion forums with wiki technology. The discussion threads are a very important part of the site and aids the success of your wiki. A wiki site is nothing without the participation of others, so always reply to any comment left on a discussion forum. Keep conversation going on all fronts- start your own discussion threads as well! The more you entice people to join in on discussions, the more they will return to the site and participate on a regular basis.

Encourage conversation
around a page topic by linking readers to the “Comments” tab. To create this link, follow these 3 quick steps:

Step 1: In EasyEdit mode, highlight the copy you want to be linked:

Step 2: Click the "link" button on the EasyEdit menu, and copy the full address for the current page into the box:

Step 3: Add the text "/thread" to the end of your web address, and confirm "Add Link."

Tip: Try to end all your posts or messages with a question. This will encourage the conversation to continue.

Welcoming New Users

Just like every other page on the wiki, profile pages contain their own discussion threads. Use these areas to speak directly with users (that is, if they haven't listed an email address on their page). You should always welcome new users with a comment on their profile page or by sending them a welcome compliment.
