Recent Discussions
Hey.
It would be really great if we could have the "Recent Discussions" that come in our weekly wiki digest postable to a page on our wiki. Our 18000 campus way wiki has a "new and noteworthy" section and that seems like a perfect place to stick a box that had ongoing threaded discussions happening on the site.
Another idea would be to have a site blog where any of the members could drop stories or op. ed. pieces with photo's and links and all that, but that would sort of archive itself.
Has anyone figured out a way to do these things?
Thanks!

Discussion forums
Any future enhancements to the Discussion forums on the cards?
Its just my forums are stating to get buzzing and I fear some threads may get lost to the wind..for example I cant 'stick' a thread to the top of the forum. I would like to better organise the threads into specific areas, so all say XBox threads would go in one 'folder' and PS3 in another etc...
Or are we going to have to make do with setting up an external forum specific account and linking to that...I would rather keep everything in house thean getting members to sign up to another site kust to be able to discuss things with each other

Discussion Forum Missing Content
Hello:
I am an Administrator for the ANT wiki http://ants.wetpaint.com/
We started using our discussion forum and for some reason, it is displaying things irregularly.
On the right hand side of the Home Page you can see one of the Active Threads (under Recent Site Activity) is Copyright. But if you click on Discussion Forum on the Box on the Left, when it takes you to discussion forum site (i.e. its history), this is missing from the list of discussions.
I can click on the Copyright link under Active Threads and see it under William Boatman ! Copyright. Why is it not appearing under the list of Discussions on the Discussion Forum (history) Page?
I don't want it to go missing if someone adds another thread (which would push it out of the Active Threads and disappear from view entirely since it woudl not be on the Discussion Forum's history.)
I am using Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7.0
Could you please look into this and get the Copyright thread into the Discussion Forum?
Thanks in advance,
Carmen Kazakoff-Lane

Replies to a discussion thread
Is there any way to set the number of replies that show up on a page to a discussion post. My wiki is only showing the original post with a link to show the latest response. This makes it appear as if no one has replied. Thanks

Discussion forum window stretch
Not sure if this is a bug, but the second page and only the second page of one of my discussion threads is stretching across and beyond view (without scrolling).
Anyone familiar with this?

Organizing the discussion forum
I greatly enjoy working with wetpaint. However, there is one feature that I would like to see changed: In the discussion forum, there is - as far as I can see - no possibility to structure the questions per subject. Being able to do so would greatly enhance the utility! (for an example, see http://www.concertina.net/forums/ ). Thanks for considering to implement such an option!
Kind regards, Mark

Discussion Forum - New Posts
It would be great if the Discussion Forum box indicated that there were new posts to the Forum.

Posting a URL in the discussion Forum
I had no trouble entering a URL on a page but can't figure out how to insert one in a discussion such as this. Is it possible? If so, can someone tell me how?
Thanks

Enhancements Desired for Discussion Threads
There does not seem to be a feature that facilitates making links to pages that might be referenced in discussion threads. You can move a thread to a page and you can link pages to threads but there isn't a way to for example embed a link to an information page as part of a discussion thread post. This would be a significant enhancement as many time someone asks questions and the answers are inside the Wiki on various pages but there is no direct way to point the person to those pages except to say go look on the XYZ page.
Also a preview of a post to a discussion thread or the ability to edit your own post would be a great improvement. There seems to be no way to fix typos or other errors once something is posted.

Order of replies on discussion threads
Is there a way to change the settings so that the order that replies appear on a single discussion thread are changed? I have students reply to other students, but their replies just get added to the end of the thread rather than appear right below the person they replied to.

Discussion under a thread disappeared
I had about 2 pages of discussions under a thread and today the initial question is there but all the comments people left under it were gone/ Is this a bug or did someone on my site delete them accidentally? I ddin't see where that happened when Ilooked in the "What's New" section.
Thanks

limiting users to posting on the discussion forum
Greetings. I'm looking for a site to use for student discussions. I need to limit the students to posting new threads and replying to existing threads on the discussion forum; at this point, I do not want them to be able to change anything else about the site. That might change, but it is where I want to begin. How can I create a membership of invited students whose only "write" access will be within the discussion forum, and who will not be able to delete or edit anything (even their own posts, once sent) on the forum?
TIA
