This month we're reading Harry Potter and the Pisoner of Azkaban. (No discussing how the book ends until the June 25th meeting!)

Question 1

1. Do you think that JK Rowlings's portrayal of Harry as a non-muggle raised by muggles and his difficulty with assimilation could, in fact, be interpreted as a questioning of the current immigration laws and statutes held by first world countries towards those deemed to be "other" ?

2. Do you think Hogwarts should stress a more theoretical approach to eduaction or continue with its dangerous hands-on methods? Would you let your children be educated there?

This month's meeting will be held Thursday, June 23rd at the Wetpaint Library. The discussion will start at 8 p.m. This month's host is Charlie Crozier, who will bring snacks.
