I want to invite a select group of people, all of whose email addresses I know right now, to become writers.
I don't want to invite them and then have to spend a lot of time unconfusing them all, and telling them, after the fact, what the procedure is, because I think that will cause most of them to lose interest very quickly. And many may decide not to respond anyhow. But how can I make this as painless as possible?

They don't even have to ask to bcome writers, if you're admin or a moderator you can go on their profile and click 'Change Permissions', then click on 'Writer' and save.
