Hey, I was wondering if I would be able to remove unwanted accounts from my page.
~Rogue~ I just started using wetpaint and I was wondering if there was a way for them to send a request to me and I accept them into the site. Plus I wanted to know if I would be able to just remove/ kick the kid from the site so his name no longer shows up as part of the site. Thanks! Stay Strong, Live Strong, Be Strong, ~Rogue~{Delta}75_DarkAssassin

I am set to only allow people who register to write and someone is continually registering new accounts and posting spam on it day and night (under their personal pages) Each day I ban the idiot's new pages; I have also asked them to stop; but nothing stops them.
I either need to have them banned by IP address (but there is no Complete History under their page) or I need the ability to authorize who can in fact register to be a writer (and then authorize individuals who are legit - and ban them if they abuse their privaledges.) What can be done to stop this nonsense? It is occuring in the ANTS wiki (http://ants.wetpaint.com/) under Members.

On a site I administrate, we suspect a person of breaking the rules by having multiple simultaneous accounts to increase the importance of the site and prompt the admins to update the site more.
Of course, we on the site prefer hard evidence to plain guesswork, so we are attempting to decipher the IPs of the various suspect accounts to find out whether they are registered to one user.. Is there a way of finding out the IP addresses of non-anonymous accounts without hard work? I thought that it would be best to ask here where the experts are instead of going on a wild goose chase trying to find out the truth. Any answers for me? ~Kinrift

I was just banned from a site I joined less than 2 weeks ago only because I didn't understand all the technicalities of rules for where to leave your website site on which page and where not to. I was following what everyone else did. All of a sudden after spending days working on my profile, survery response and writing a decription in the therapy list, trying to be of help to others by contributing handouts, I was banned, losing all the material I wrote that I can really use. From the getgo, the moderator was trying to shoo me off the site because I believe that Dr. Sarno's work was from the orientation of mindbody medicine and the moderator believed it was from the orientation of conventional medicine but that should not be a reason. I feel that I was degraded and abused and I am very upset to lose my writings that I contributed on the site without pre-warning. This moderator, Forest of Trees had it in for me from the start. I feel violated! Can you help me here?
The technical reason for being banned was because I put in my website on the practitioners list following what everyone else did. What is the point of a practitioner's list if you don't have a website or contact info on it? I wrote a short description of who I am like everyone else. Is there anyway to complain about being mistreated and degraded like this? The moderator's interactions with me were hostile and distrusting on many counts. I almost feel that he was anti-semetic because I live in Israel and Jewish. Its a common problem. I did not vandalize the site, Gd forbid. I only was helpful to sufferers of TMS and appropriate. I may have not understood all the many rules Forest of Trees had, but I even told them that its alot of rules and I probably won't understand them all at first as I am new to the site so simply correct me with your many writers. Instead I was suddenly banned.

People join my site for a specific reason and when that task is done I would like to remove them. Banning is too harsh and sends the wrong message.

I had banned a member from my site, only to find that one of my mods/writers have unbanned them, which is not good. Is there a way for me to find out which mod unbanned so I can take care of that? It's very important..

how a member can be deleted completely from wetpaint so he cannot see the discussions.
i run an online discussion for my students which is required for my course, and students drop from the course, so i have to remove them in order to prevent them from seeing the contributions of the other students.

I also use this site as a supplement to a course and I've been banning former students to clean the slate for my new students...however, will my new students be able to see who I've banned, or is that something that only I see as an administrator? Sort of an odd thing to have to explain if current users can tell who's been banned...

I was Banned from a site for a reason unknown to me. I don't know the creator or administrators on any other sites. How would I get in touch with them? I don't believe it's fair that a member should be banned without knowing the reason and, therefore, denying them the oppurtunity to testify against what they did.
A user should always have a fair testimony; privately, with the creator before banning. |

Is this okay to do? I'd like to be un-banned, and have them realize it's not really okay to ban for being inactive My username is Brightflower. (With the period at the end)

There is a hacker who repeatedly joins as a registered user, but his/her username is a repitition of the administrator's username, for example, Bumblestar. The lower case 'L' in the name is replaced by a capital 'i' so it looks exactly the same. Bumblestar and BumbIestar. I wrote it in two different forms, but it still looks the same.
The hacker then contacts a mod/another admin and tells them that he/she has been 'demoted' into a RU, whereas the real admin is STILL an admin. Sometimes a mod may not check and promote the hacker to an admin/mod. Then, the hacker will delete every page, thread, ban every member, and make the site into a total chaos. I think Baby_Apple and bedding7 were invited to WCC2 to fix this problem. This is the site I'm referring to. Another type of hacker names himself/herself Virus2.0, sitedestroyer, UnfairAdvantage100. These names point out that he/she's a hacker, but the biggest problem is he/she hacks a mod/admin and promotes himself, and when the admins ban him he continuously unbans himself and promotes himself. Eventually, the poor mod gets banned for no reason at all. What is the solution to this problem? I personally have been hacked twice. UnknownZombie and Unknown_Snowfur were my other accounts. I got hacked because I created a site. Sniff.

I would like to have some info / steps on how to ban an IP address that is used by a banned member.
This member registers every time under a different account name for the last 8 months... Today he registered 6 times under different names and is being harassing all the time... Sending "mass" messages by taking the effort and time to send over 850 members... 15 at a time... alphabetically... Posting harassing threads... We banned him consequently... but he already told us... he would keep on coming in... For the time being... we have set our site settings to private... until we figured out how to ban his IP address.... finally There is no way to click on his IP somewhere... and ban it... We got his IP though... We do not allow unregistered members... so there were no anonymous posts.. So can anyone tell me how to do this? Thank You so much for your time... Jivanda
