Honestly, i started a wetpaint website, and i haven't been able to put really good videos on the site, because of the limit of videos memory. 500k? You should upload that to 500mb. That would get a lot of peoples' attention, and then they will make websites. I hate that short limit.

It would be nice if I could directly hotlink or embed an image from my imageshack account, for example. I think I'll be hitting that 40 file limit in no time.

Just right-click the download link and click:
Save Link
Copy Link
Copy Link Location etc.
Then just paste your link where you want it.

Whenever I add attachments, the attachment goes all the way to the bottom of the page. Is there a way that I can add attachments within the body of the page itself, and not at the bottom?

Hi Wetpaint!
Having good fun with my wetpaint site and I am impressed with how easy it is to use. As a department in a school of 1700 pupils we run 20-30 KS3 projects and 6 KS4 projects. I need to have more capacity to add attachments as 40 is too small a number. Is there a way I can negoiate this with you???

If you ever find yourself running out of attachment space, you could host your attachment on an external filehoster, and then give your users the provided download link. that way you can save up a lot on attachment space.
A good free filehoster would be www.mediafire.com MediaFire. It is unlimited bandwidth, space, and infinite keeping time.

I think you can upload any file type to wetpaint attachments. If you want to play music then you should use widgets. Imeem is most commonly used by wetpaint. You can add an Imeem widget by clicking EasyEdit and then widget. Scroll down to the Imeem logo and click it. There it has further instructions on how to add one. I have uploaded a file type that nearly no one has heard of and it worked. Its says on this page that any file type can be uploaded.

I recently setup a new private wetpaint site and uploaded a few attachments that I want other users to be able to open, edit and re-save to the site, but I cannot get the browser to save the attachment back to the site using the save button from the browers tool bar. I have tried this with both Word and Excel documents and it does not seem to work. Can anyone offer suggestions or is this something that is just not supported in wetpaint currently?

Don't really know anything about wetpaint attachments. Try opening a file hosting account with iDrive. Then once you have uploaded your documents you can add a widget anywhere on your site. It is much easier to set up and you get more space.

On my site, (parlamentum.wetpaint.com) attachments stopped opening, displaying only "Problem loading page" in my browser. I removed the old attachment and re uploaded it but it's still unavailable. It's a public domain, 1MB PDF document. I have two attachments on the site now and both are broken links... Please help, people are expecting they're available for download..

I don't have a problem with the file limit, you can easily host elsewhere and link to it. Other sites do have more though e.g. pbwiki, wikispaces etc. but they lack the great structure wetpaint provides. Probably the way to go is to provide more space 50-100MB, then also offer subscriptions for more space and control of ads (or own placement). The biggest downside I see to subscriptions is many people like to have multiple wikis and it is then too expensive. My ISP offers 10 domains per hosting account and that would be a fantastic idea for a subscription wiki i.e. 10 separate wikis per paid account.

Well I provided a direct download link on my site and as soon as you click it, the downloader appears with buttons such as open. On the file hosting site right-click the download button and copy the link. I used iDrive.
