You're welcome. According to Wetpaint's Terms of Services, they reserve the right to block or remove any wiki that has violated their TOS without notifying the creator of that site. When you joined Wetpaint, you automatically agreed to the TOS, so, in Wetpaint's eyes, you should have been informed of their policy regarding the removal of sites from their server. With that being said, I sympathize with you and firmly hold that it is appropriate to block wikis without notifying the creator and giving them an opportunity to make sure that their wiki adheres to the TOS. I'm sorry that your seven years of hard work went to waste, and even though Wetpaint does not appreciate your service to your wiki, I, as a volunteer, do. I hope you decide to continue your hard work on another wiki platform.

Back in February, Wetpaint disabled the wiki creation process until they could implement stricter ways to enforce their Terms of Service. As you eluded to above, this process is still currently unavailable. None of the volunteers on Wetpaint Central know when this process will be back online. We all have to wait until Alex Weinstein, the Head of Technology at Wetpaint, informs us of any new developments. Until this event occurs, the wiki creation process will not be available. Therefore, it is impossible for you and your students to create wikis of any sort.

With that being said, it has not been possible to create an educational ad-free wiki since 2009. Back in 2009, Wetpaint decided that, with low returns in revenue, they could no longer support the educational ad-free program. It is also not possible to send invitations to join a private wiki. In order to invite your students to your wiki, you must change your site's permission settings from private to public and allow all your students to join while the site is public. You can lock your site back up once all your students have joined the wiki.

Finally, I would suggest that, if you need to create a wiki for classroom purposes, you should use one of your older wikis, if you have one, to do so. You can rename this older wiki and use it for your new class. You can also ban any members from your former class in order to make room for your new class. Since it is not currently possible to create wikis, you can dedicate a main page to each of your students. Each student can then do all of their work under their own page. This method will only work if you have an older wiki. If you do not have an older wiki, you should use a different wiki farm for your students. Wikia (http://wikia.com/Wikia) is a good alternative to Wetpaint.
