i would like to know if it is possible for you to extend the same ad-free benefit that education wikis have to churches and their ministries. I am a high school teacher, but I also teach at my church. I would like to set up a wiki for them to discuss Bible topics, life issues, testimonies, etc. without having the normal distractions of most social sites(i.e. myspace, facebook, urbanchat, etc.). I believe that this wiki would be a great benefit to all of my kids just as wetpaint has been for several teachers. Thank you for your consideration in this manner.

Okay, here are a few things about ads summed up into one thread.
There has been much complaining about Wetpaint removing the ad-free education program. Why did they remove it? They were running out of money. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Ad+Free+Education+Sites You can report ads that your students should not be seeing at: info@wetpaint.com The steps are at the bottom of this page. http://wetpaintcentral.com/page/Ads A few staff members of Wetpaint, including the popular Jason_Wetpaint were laid off. Very sad ;( Now, header ads are above the pages in a new spot. It looks more like they weren't just put there. Many are asking, "What do the header ads have to do with the content of my site?" Nothing. They have nothing to do with the conent of your site. Why, you ask? Header ads simply pay a lot, and there are not enough related-to-your-site header ads. Text ads, are normally related to your site. For example, I have a bunch of articles and discussions about the Swine Flu. A lot of ads are about Swine Flu. This is common for header ads to be unlike the content of the site. Look at many sites you go to. YouTube.com, IGN.com, popular online game sites, and even World of Warcraft. ~JJ

there's an inappropriate ad, and since it's inappropriate you wouldn't really want to know where it would bring you to?

I just signed up for a premium site after having already set up a free one. I entered the name of that site into a form when I set up the premium account, but the ads are still there.

I just started a private Wiki site for the students in my academic class. As part of starting the Wiki, it indicated I can varify educational use, and have the ads removed from the site. How do I do that?

I think Wetpaint is great. I appreciate you need to place adverts to make money. Up until recently your ads were Google text ads, which was fine - not too obtrusive and had a product that was to do with the subject of the site. But NOW - flashing, eye distracting ads about any old subject you care to mention. Is this just a trial - or is it here to stay - in which case I'm not.

also want to be able to turn off all access for non-registered users, and of course, an API would be clutch. also want to be able to turn off different site features, like Discussion Forums, etc. And customize the look/feel, of course.
my company could pretty easily be convinced to pay $50/mo for that. it would be inexpensive compared to salesforce's $9,000/mo or whatever it is they are charging these days.
