Ad-Free Test Program

ad_free_imageInterested in going ad-free?

We’re looking for 50 Wetpaint site creators to participate in an evaluation of a potential new feature — ad-free Wetpaint wikis!

What is the offer?
  • For a $19.95/month fee, Google ads will be removed from participating Wetpaint wikis.

How does it work?
  • You sign up for a three-month-long test that commences March 1 and ends May 31. Wetpaint will collect monthly payments via PayPal one week before the first of each month of the test period.

How do I sign up?
  • If you would like to take part in this test, email michael @ wetpaint dot com— participation is limited, so don't delay! In your email, be sure to include:
    • The URL of the Wetpaint site from which you would like to remove the ads
    • Your Wetpaint account user ID
  • If you are selected to participate, Wetpaint will contact you via email with more information on how to get started.

The not-so-fine print:
  • This is only a test, so we can't promise that the availability of the ad-free option will extend beyond the three-month test period.
  • To participate in the test, you must be a moderator or above. If you are not a moderator or above for the site you wish to enter into the test, please message the moderator, creator, or administrator and see if they would consider participating.
  • You may leave the test at any time and have the ads reinstated on your site; however, we cannot refund any paid monthly subscription fees. If you wish to leave the test, email michael @ wetpaint dot com.
  • Wetpaint cross-site merchandising ads will remain on your site throughout the test.
  • Wetpaint's Ad-free Education program is a separate initiative. To learn more about our program to support education, click here.

Great idea but could be less per month say $10. I think you would get a lot more people like myself who would do it. We are content with the free site (thanks), but for $10 I would opt for the ad free site for sure.

Today I checked my sight, and found progressive-direct and citibank ads back on my site:

www.eoht.info

They were gone for about two weeks, now there back? Is this a glitch?

If I pay for an ad free site, Will Wetpaint help enforce the user conduct policies? I have been trying to get rid of a TROLL on my spirituality based web site, but he can just sign in using a different e-mail. I have not found a way to block his IP addresses. I have banned him 19 times now and removed numinous threads that he has posted and now he has sent threatening e-mails to all members of my site. I cant sit at home all day trying to stop his activity. Will I have some control over hew signs up instead of this free sign up thing ware I don't even get a chance to approve members before letting them in?

There are only two things I would really like to see available and they are adding JavaScript widgets, right now if you don't have a widget with an embed code it doesn't let you add it. Also allowing an ad free wiki for a small monthly fee would be nice. I know you have a beta going on for $19.95 for ad free wikis but that is not comparable to other Wiki software.
