Thank you, Wetpaint, for allowing educational sites that had registered prior to August 10 to keep their ad-free status. If you had taken that away after all the effort that some people had put into sites that they believed were ad free, it could have damaged your reputation. However, having to review 1000 sites per week sounds like quite an onerous burden. At the same time, allowing the old educational sites to continue is greatly appreciated. We will continue to proudly introduce many new young people to the terrific software that you have.

What is happening with the ads? They have gone from subtle to absurd! I have also been waiting to get them taken off my educational site for a couple of weeks in which time they have gotten a LOT more distracting. If they are not taken off I am moving to another site.

****Please Respond if you are a Wetpaint Admin.
It is my understanding that you have stopped offering free ad removal to educational websites. However, these sites were set up prior to that new policy. The new policy went into effect on the 8/11, these were created on 8/6. The following wetpaint sites are going to be used for educational purposes and Wetpaint did take down the ads but not all the ads: http://mrshontzfredonia.wetpaint.com/ http://mrsoconnell.wetpaint.com/ http://mrsmerwin.wetpaint.com/ Ads still appear on the bottom of the page. ( "e" section) The "Other Sites:" section suggests other wetpaint sites. Some of which are inappropriate. It was our understanding that would also be taken off. We are really looking forward to using the sites but want to make sure the sites are ad free. Thank you for all your help and offering this service to teachers!

I am so sorry that you are changing wetpaint. You had the best product for educators. I wish that you could reconsider or get funding for this service!

The site says:
"Q: If I’m in it but want to start a new one, can I do that? A: No. Sites that are already in the program will remain ad free going forward but new sites will not be admitted. We recommend educators turn over the site from session to session. You can add new users and delete old ones." I had an ad-free educational site approved, and now it has ads on it! |

Since it is a one-time job for wetpaint to remove ads from someone's site, isn't it possible to create a one-time fee as opposed to charging someone every month for a service that was done once?
Would prefer to use wetpaint to teach my photog course, but will need to teach elsewhere if I'm unable to secure a reasonable fee |

It seems silly but I cannot find the 'button' to to press for requesting an ad-free site. Is it not there because there is currently an issue with getting ad free sites?

I'm using the site for an online course at the community college where I teach and I completed the registration form on my site THREE TIMES to request that ads be removed. It has been over a week since the first request and the ads are still showing up. Are these requests getting through? I haven't received any email notification one way or another.

I just submitted my third request for the wiki http://mdipietr.wetpaint.com/ to be approved in a three week period. Is there any way we can check on the status of the site's review? When should we expect to get notification of approval -- or non-approval?
Thanks.

I requested the Ads to be removed from my educational site (5 times over the past 2 weeks in fact) and have still not gotten a response. In the past, my requests were accepted immediately. Is someone on holidays?
