I really dislike the banners promoting other wikis at the top of the screen. They are usually promoting some naff TV show, bear no relevance to my wiki, and actually are placed higher than my own banner, taking precedence over it.
Luckily I, and most of my wiki's members are carriers of an apparently rare gene that gives us a natural tendency to ignore online advertising, but they do look horrendous, completely spoil the look of the wiki's front page and I'm disappointed that Wetpaint is placing a higher value on a TV production company's wiki over the wikis of those people who make the Wetpaint community what it is, namely the thousands of wiki owners who take time to build these sites and develop them, and at the same time promote the whole Wetpaint thing with natural enthusiasm, for which there is no tangible price...that comes free. I totally understand the need for Wetpaint to gain revenue, especially in today's financial climate. It is thanks to the revenue you raise that we obtain what has up to now been a terrific product, for free. I have absolutely no qualms whatsoever about the Adsense and targetted adds on the sites. I have absolutely no problem with the banner promoting other wikis at the bottom of each page, it helps to knit the network together. But by giving more prominence to and placing more importance on a TV production company than on me I feel undervalued. I have always been enthusiastic aout promoting Wetpaint but the gloss has been taken off it somewhat. The last three years have been fun and you guys on here have been great but the little guys can't compete with the corporate sector and I think it may be time to think of something else. Please don't take any of the above personally as it isn't intended to be...just my viewpoint.

As to the new email changes, there seems to be improvements for the better and for the worse. I have screen captured the changes, by comparison with last month, here:
http://www.eoht.info/page/EoHT+Wiki%3A+Practice+page As to the good changes, the recent activity box seems interesting, particularly the listing of pages for the week with updates numbered. As to the bad points, firstly the new pages section is gone. This is the main feature of my site and the main incentive for new members to join. Most the members of my site, including about a dozen college professors and noted authors: http://www.eoht.info/page/Encyclopedia+of+Human+Thermodynamics join simply to read the new pages added each week (~12 per week). Now that this feature is gone, it seems pointless to suggest that to people, who plan on doing no editing, to get an account. The site activity graph seems basically pointless. There is no x-axis data scale, so it basically looks like a zig-zag line, with no meaning? The total site pages and new pages count is gone? Members of the week should be at the bottom of the email. Wikis tend to be about the content of each page of the wiki, not generally about the members. This giving the “members” section second place prominence seems mis-aligned. The long and the short of my complaint, is that we need to get the new pages section of the email back and the total site pages and new pages added count all back.

Thank you Wetpaint! I mean, you could always add it to other widget, but this will be so much better.
