Welcome! Wikis are websites that everyone can build together. It's easy!

01/25/07 - release

Following is a list of the enhancements from our January release. Please share your thoughts in the comments area.

Page update notification: want to stay informed of changes to key site pages? Now you can receive email notification on any page on your site if the page is changed. Look for the email option when watching or saving a page.

Widgets: What’s a widget? A widget is a 3rd party application (aka feature) that allows you to customize your site. Wetpaint has expanded its widget offering to include:
  • Google Calendars: share your Google calendar with site users to keep them posted of key events.
  • Vizu Polls: want perspective on a hot topic? Post a poll on your site to give everyone a voice. Rock the vote baby!
  • Meebo IM: share your IM status on your profile page so other users can connect with you.
  • Gabbly chat: connect real-time with users on any topic you choose. Add a chat widget to any page to get the conversation rolling fast.

Previous widgets included YouTube & Google videos and Photobucket slideshows.

Lost content prevention: Ever hit the escape key accidentally while editing and lose your page changes? It annoyed us too. Your browser will now issue a warning message if you leave a page after making changes without saving first.

We hope you like these changes. Please share your feedback!

Wouldn't it be even more effective if the changes were just automatically saved?

Those schooled in Raskin's "The Humane Interface" incline to ask, You mean if I don't hit this little button, you're going to take my carefully built text and just THROW IT AWAY?!! How mean is that?

I know it's not usually done that way. Perhaps we could start to change that habit.

Is there a widget that allows you to show points on a map?
I am working with a group of local campaigns that are looking to add points to a map that show where in the state or county that their services are located.

Thank you.

I have tried to use Box widget on my site, it takes the code but does not work. This would be a fine feature to have - remote storage / upload and download of documents.
I have used your attachments but I have reached the limit. Can you pleas look inti this?

Love the new widgets addition. It really opens up wikis to a world of outside content. Do you have a list of widgets somewhere that you guys have tested? I added a spreadsheet from Google Docs and it works like a dream.

Cheers,
Randy
