My name is Grand Tybiss. You may refer to me as either Grand or Grandie in an informal chat setting. I am currently an administrator of NGOG (Noble Guardians of Ga 'Hoole), a roleplay website (established on the Wetpaint platform) based off of the acclaimed Guardians of Ga 'Hoole series. Here is some general information about myself... I am nineteen years old, an aspiring sci fi/ fantasy novelist, a volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation center, and a freshman undergraduate at IUPUC (Indiana University -Purdue University) in Columbus, Indiana. Biology (B.A.) is my intended major, and I seek to specialize in ornithology, wildlife management, or some other science-based field, with a minor in creative writing. I have two (possibly three) book series in queue: Serador (sci fi/ action/ horror) and Avion (fantasy/ adventure). I am an advocate of bird/ wildlife conservation, so do not come bragging to me about your latest hunting expedition. It will not be an animal's carcass that I imagine roasting in the crockpot, but rather it will be something (or someone) else.
I live near a lakeside in a three-story house, with a hand-crafted, blown-glass birdfeeder on the back deck, where I commune with the local birdlife (in my own incongruous fashion) on a daily basis. My heart is borne on wings of joy, as I recognize each familiar, feathered face: black-capped chickadee, american robin, european starling, house sparrow, barn swallow, northern cardinal, blue jay, purple finch, tufted titmouse, white-breasted nuthatch, brown thrasher, killdeer, bobwhite, house wren, common grackle, mourning dove, red-headed woodpecker, american crow, ruby-throated hummingbord, and in some cases... wild turkey, peregrine falcon, turkey vulture, belted kingfisher, blue heron, and eastern bluebird. Once upon a time... bald eagles roamed the skies in my locality!
I am fond of taking brisk walks/ hikes in the mid-afternoon, trekking through the woodlands marking nest-sites and photographing birds on the wing. At twilight, when the woods are enveloped in a spell-binding stillness, the air becomes cold and crisp, and the stars begin to paint themselves across the night-sky... the swingset is my favorite hang-out!
