I am startng to think my methods may be a little to advanced for the audience I have been addressing. Using wordpad to create fixed text on my wiki sites, then converting them to an image file to allow for a wide variation of font usage. The use of spacer gifs to assure line spacing to be true. Tables that no one wants to even learn and they are the best tool to organize the content on a page I am starting to think, maybe it is all in vain. That I should not put anymore effort into my two wikis. No one goes there anyway...Oh well.

Wow, how do I describe the events from yesterday until today? I can think of many adjectives to kinda pigeon hole them. Stupid. Entrapped. Irresponsible. Responsible. Successful. Failed. Helpful. Harmful. I could go on and on. Now with more focus, those are two fold adjectives. Not only do they describe the events but also the participant in those events. I will not go into the details but will say it had to do with a TROLL. I played the Troll Exterminator. I thought I was successful in stopping the troll.
I But as it turns out the Troll had trolled the wiki members into gaining trust in him/her and that The evil cryingdove needed to be banned and sent off into the nether region where the troll's dragons live. When I realized that was the case, I explained to the creator of the wiki, that I would not return and they had to deal with the troll as they see fit. Boy did I feel duped at that point in time. Well lesson learned for this day. Oh my.

Cancelled memberships to four sites today, for either lack of contribution or too much contribution. Either way not good for those wikis. But bottom line is, I met some nice people along the way. Plus, I cannot believe how much personal information is being released by individuals in posts, that can be collected by perfect strangers. I learned quite a bit about this one family, just by doing a simple search on the Internet. All information gathered from casual talk on postings.Oh my.

Yeah, Fancygens is back up and running. I am so glad. Now my widgets will work again in Wetpaint. Nothing else new to report. Been a very dull day. Oh well.

I don't know what is going on with FancyGens website, but it is not on line anymore. Hopefully they will be back, I use several of their widgets on my sites, including a calendar here in this blog. Notice the empty space to the left. It has been three days since their disap-pearence. I have my fingers crossed that they will be able to come online again. I went to http://www.gsp.com/whois/ (a site where you can check the status of any site in the Internet ) and apparently their domain name expired on the 13th of March and was renewed on the 14th, I don't know why they are not back up today, unless there is a snag . Oh well.

Made a fool of myself today in the Discussion Forum. I saw the bug with the Navigational pane. I even found in the code where I thought the problem was. I knew it was a List, but I kept referring to it as a Directory. Duh. Then I wanted to be smart and put it into a thread. Bad idea. Totally bad. After I seen what I had posted, I had to retreat with my tail between my legs. I will now stick to what I know and leave the stuff I don't up to someone else. Oh Well.

Today was a fulfilling day. I was able to help some people in the community at Wetpaint Central. Approved 2 friend requests and visited my other wikis to answer threads. Good day all and all. Placed an idea for a shared holding tank or bucket on Splats for those with wikis who want to have music play when the site is entered and have the music play on any page on their site. The concept is as follows. Any site can use my unused site, create a page on that site. Then add their auto-play play-list widget to that page. Then capture the URL for that page and place it as a link for a "Music" button. When the button is clicked, the play list page will open in another window and the main site can be explored while the music plays on the bucket site. I am not sure how much effect it will have on the throughput on the bucket site, but hopefully it will be negligible. Need participation and feedback from others to find out. Oh well.

Created two more concepts for wiki pages. One for private or password protected pages and another for splash entry screens to a wiki site. Both can be found on SPLASH. I was also able to help someone put a webring hub on their site with the use of iFrame coding. Other than that it has been the same old story. Oh well.

I was looking at the posts here on Wetpaint Central, an I have come to the conclusion that many users will not touch or explore the different tools given to them on the wiki. I find this quite strange. For many they need to be told directly where something is or what it does. or they are totally lost. Where are the Columbus's or Magellan's of today. Wetpaint wikis do not need rocket scientists to create, but one has to be able to explore by themselves a little. Have we created a society where the people in it can only survive on fast foods or microwave dinners? A society where all answers have to be given to them or it is a Bug? Darn you George Orwell! Oh well

Nothing going on today either. Did the normal stuff around the house. Then went to Wetpaint. Read all the posts back to January 2008. I even answered a post from 2007. I don't think the poster is still with Wetpaint. I did find a way to add a private page with the use of iFrame coding. That is good. Oh well.
