Self-made profile icons
Feb 17 2010, 3:46 AM EST | Post edited: Feb 17 2010, 3:58 AM EST
I have finally found the ability to make my own profile icons...or at least to add the Moderator badge myself.

Thanks to those of you who have made my past icons, I look forward to making a few of my own from now on.

PS: My current icon is one I just made...I hope it doesn't look to botched.

Yeah, I'm using a program called GIMP. I don't think it is as sophisticated as Adobe Photoshop, but it has served me adequately thus far.

I used to have GIMP. It was very helpful. You know what I use now don't you?

There, I just redid it with Paint.net.

It looks a little less butchered, but it took me a little while to tweak it just right.

It looks a bit better. Why don't you try this badge? It is the same thing, but I cut it out. Just copy and paste it onto your icon.

The problem is that I then have to fill in all the white space.

If I could find a way to program it so white can be transparent, then it would work out better. Either that or I have to find a picture where the background is already white.

You select the white with the Magic Wand tool. Then click your delete on your keyboard. It should remove all the white.

There, now my profile icon has all the defining characteristics of my username.

The Star Trek Captain rank pips and my personal symbol paired with the Moderator badge.
