Hi, I'm a career professional programmer and software designer. currently semi-retired and taking it it somewhat easier than i have for almost 30 years.. I've been developing web sites and applications for about 10 years now and I find wetpaint just tickles me pink and other delicious colors. but If my customers find out about it I might loose a few of them, o well Good riddance to bad rubbish - not really but I could loose a couple and not miss them at all. Still This site could put a few web developers out of work. OK with me I'm retired remember. Or semi- retired. and some customers are like slinkies. Not good for anything but they would bring a smile to your(*my) face when you(i) kick them down a flight of stairs. flop slink flop!

I've worked mostly with MS development products for the past 20 or so years mostly visual studio and visual c++ though I spent a number of years as a COBOL developer on the IBM as/400 an began my carer developing DBMS system on HP minis and then medical system on Data General Minis but I like the PC development much better, Minis and Mainframes have all the goodies but its still like driving an old Cadillac. lots of comfort and it gets you there but the trip is really boring. Someone said just start writing and have fun but If I get going sometimes i don't know when to stop is there anything like a cold Wet.paint rag that can be thrown on me if I start going really crazy?

Before discovering computers I was one of Uncle Sams Misguided Children for what seemed like at the time a very long 4 years but not long after I realized had been the most fun I'd ever had or probably ever would have in my life. I was wrong but not by a great deal. I was a Control tower and radar air traffic controller at Cherry Point NC for most of my 4 but got lucky and spent the last 18 months of it on a Carrier in the Southern Med and sent most of that time ashore in places like Barcelona, Valencia, Genoa, Naples AND other wonderful places around the Med.

The little Hotstuff Devil I use for an avatar is tattooed on my right arm(bicep) and was picked for me by 4 men I spent my 4 Corps Years with. We all got out about the same time and went and got tattoos befor getting out and we all picked the tats for the other guys and He's what they picked for me. Appropriate. Mischievous, not evil, or not too evil.
